Brandy Hill Energy Storage Project

A new energy storage project in Australia

Project Location

The project is located approximately 2km south-west of Seaham, 5km north-east of Brandy Hill and 30km northwest of Newcastle, and is located within the Port Stephens Local Government Area. Access is off an unnamed public road from Clarence Town Road.

The site is in close proximity to the electrical grid (132kV), and adjacent to the Brandy Hill substation, facilitating easy access and stability of the grid.

The site is open, rural landscape currently used for grazing.

Why is the project located where it is?

Due to its close proximity to the existing Brandy Hill substation, the project site is ideal for direct connection into the AusGrid network via the Tomago-Stroud transmission line which connects into the Brandy Hill substation.

In addition to the above, other considerations which were made on site location:

  • Excellent transport access
  • Not within a flood area
  • Topography and terrain that meet our requirements
